Shanon is a 2009 graduate of Buckhannon Upshur High School. Her future plans are to attend Fairmont State University in Fairmont West Virginia in the fall of 2009, majoring in elementary education with an emphasis on early childhood education.
Cheerleading has been a huge part of Shanon’s life since the age of 10. She cheered all through her middle school and high school years as a main “flyer”. She was squad captain her senior year and earned the honor of being named to the WV North Central Athletic Conference first squad for the 2008-2009 school year.
Shanon works at the Crowning Touch, a Buckhannon business catering to formal wear and all pageantry needs. In addition, Shanon has been very active in various school clubs and organizations including Student Council, Spirit Club, and Teen Institute, an organization affiliated with the National Organization RAZE. Teen Institute works in the elementary schools bringing focus to all types of tobacco use and the negative health consequences caused by it.
Although Shanon is an only child, she has many little cousins she loves spending time with, as well as her family and friends. She loves animals, has a cat named Kinze, and would have a house full of dogs and cats if time and schedules allowed. Her other pastimes include making yummy desserts, working out, and watching movies.
